PCB DESIGNER

We specialize in the design, manufacture and integration of system packaging, backplanes, power and monitoring systems, computer boards and peripherals, supplying everything from off-the-shelf standard products to fully customized commercial and MIL COTS integrated rack systems for VME, VXI, PXI, cPCI, ATCA and proprietary bus systems.

We are currently looking for a PCB design engineer to perform schematic capture and PCB layout to our design rules and manufacturing process requirements, for use in complex hardware devices and/or systems.  Must be a self-starter.

REPORTS TO:            DIRECTOR OF ENGINEERING

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Perform schematic capture and PCB layout
• Establish and maintain PCB Design and Documentation Standards
• Establish and maintain Component Library structure; coordinate with Schematic software.
• Responsible for Project Management of PCB Design.  Maintains Layout schedule and works with development teams and management to set priorities.
• Responsible for pro actively anticipating DFM considering Manufacturing, Industry and Vendor Standards; interface with manufacturing to incorporate DFM feedback on designs
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment while multi-tasking designs and project management.
• Develop and maintain PCB documentation; responsible for insuring a high quality documentation package is released in a timely manner.
• First level technical support from PCB fab vendors and PCB assembly for both prototypes and production
• Investigate state of the art fab and assembly technologies; work with Engineering team to recommend cost effective design trade offs.
• Projects are broad in nature, usually requiring appreciable originality and ingenuity. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

·        Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering required or equivalent experience

·        >5 Years experience in Rigid PCB Design and Flex PCB Design layout, preferably with PADs Software

·        Demonstrated ability of working the entire PCB design process to produce state of the art designs on time, meeting cost/schedule goals, with minimal changes once board is released.

·        Familiar with Industry Standards for PCB Design including IPC (certification a plus)

·        Experience with Analog and Digital design techniques

·        Experience with Power Supply design a plus

·        Experience with Backplane design a plus

·        Must be detail oriented and organized

·        Oral and written communication skills required

·        Familiarity with military specs a plus
